Contingency plans

Zest Radio can create a Gantt chart to help organize their radio station in preparation for broadcasting publicly. The Gantt chart will help them meet deadlines in time whilst leaving them time left over to ensure than they are fully prepared. Zest radio can use a Gantt chart to identify risks while broadcasting and ways they can be prevented, for example: Someone unable to turn up to an interview, recording while its raining, what to do if presenter is not available etc.

In radio, if something were to go wrong, the station can follow a contingency plan. Zest radio can use this in a situation where something has gone wrong or not according to plan. They can come up with a back up plan if something goes unplanned to continue the broadcast smoothly.

Job roles

General manager - Responsible for overall operation in the station. This position requires business knowledge, leadership ability and technical understanding of how a station operates.

Technician - These people can carry out tests, inspections and repairs on mechanical objects.

Music director - They are responsible for curating and maintaining the station's music library.

radio presenter - A radio presenter is the person on air during a live broadcast.

radio producer - Radio producers are responsible for the audio content of broadcasts via radio,  the internet and other mobile platforms. They're involved in the entire process from generating ideas to managing the audience response after a programme.
